NEW YORK–Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) has been designated the charity of choice for the New York International Gift Fair.

The 26-year-old organization provides basic necessities, books, toys and other products to children who are underprivileged or who have undergone a disaster. It distributes products through a network of nearly 1,000 community social-service agencies in the United States and abroad.

During the Gift Fair this week, K.I.D.S. will receive all of the remaining inventory from the 2,800 exhibiting companies at the trade show’s locations, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94.
