IFDA New York Chapter Names Klein President, Forms Advisory Board of Executives

NEW YORK–The New York chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association has named Maureen Klein, interior designer, marketing specialist and editor for several home furnishings/do-it-yourself publications, as its president, and has appointed an executive board of professionals for 2008.
The board includes Klein; Penny Sikalis, vice president of GLM; Susan Hirsh, interior designer and the IFDA New York Chapter president in 2006 and 2007; Agnes Freas, marketing specialist for Zeftron; and Susan Slotkis, author and educator on interior design.
In a statement issued by the New York chapter, Klein said the chapter plans to continue Hirsh’s efforts in expanding and creating new events and seminars, along with generating membership and awareness among students of interior design of the association’s activities and of issues involving the home furnishings industry.
