NEW YORK–Bloggers from design and trend-watching Web sites chose innovative products and emerging trends at the Accent on Design division of the recently completed New York International Gift Fair.
The first-ever Bloggers’ Choice Awards included the following:
• Hollister Hovey of HollisterHovey.blogspot.com chose the Strida MOOF bike by Areaware for its classic European bike elements and modern, simple construction.
• Stephanie Murg of Mediabistro.com/UnBeige picked Areaware’s Geo Birdhouse, a geodesic that can be used as a nesting place for birds or indoors as a decorative accent.
• Also noted by Murg was American Design Club’s Russian Nesting Doll Tables, a pair of glass-topped tables by Rich, Brilliant and Willing.
•PATCH NY’s handmade needlepoint products were recognized by Grace Bonney of Designspongeonline.com.
•The Amazing Floor Lamp by Rich, Brilliant and Willing, a simple design with a silk shade, fabric cord and rich wood was chosen by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan of ApartmentTherapy.com.
