WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–The New York International Gift Fair has invited designers, artists and manufacturers to submit applications for several juried, design-focused divisions at the winter version of the trade show.

The divisions include Accent on Design, A+: The Young Designers’ Platform at Accent on Design, Handmade Designer Maker and Handmade Global Design. Applications are available online at nyigf.com/apply. The due date for Accent on Design, Handmade Designer Maker and Handmade Global Design is Sept. 30. For A+: The Young Designers’ Platform, the due date is Dec. 2.

The criteria for acceptance by the Accent on Design selection committee are original, creative and authentic product design, new and innovative use of materials, products that address and solve problems, consistent and continuous new product creations, a focus on contemporary design and functionality.
The A+ section showcases work by emerging designers, based on design concept, creativity and originality.

Handmade Designer Maker presents limited-production products across all categories and media. Handmade Global Design spotlights international craft resources with a focus on strong design, traditional techniques and quality workmanship.

The Gift Fair is scheduled for Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2012, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94.
