NEW YORK–Fashion Delivers, a charitable organization of the apparel and home-textiles industries, has issued a call for donations to relief efforts targeted at victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
The organization is taking contributions of apparel and home products, and distributing them in Haiti through its secure warehouse on the island. According to a letter to HFN from Frank Foley, president of CHF Industries, about $5 million in apparel and home goods has already been processed. In addition, Foley said the Home Fashion Products Association is coordinating efforts by its membership to move products through Fashion Delivers into Haiti.
Elizabeth Miller, senior vice president of the Karastan Rugs division of Mohawk Home, said people in Haiti have urgent needs for towels, sheets, blankets and other home textiles.
