NEW YORK–Executives Working in Home Textiles (EWHT) will donate $2,500 to the Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries for the Home Products Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology to fund travel scholarships for students.
According to a statement from EWHT, the organization will present the donation at an FIT student trend presentation on Feb. 23. EWHT said it has learned that existing endowments to the Home Products Department will not provide the needed funds for student travel grants this year and next year.
Linda Kulla, EWHT’s treasurer and vice president of the Bath Division at Bardwil, said, “Student exposure to major trade shows is a learning component that benefits our industry over many years.” Kulla also encouraged companies and individuals to sponsor travel for one or more students this year.
