STAMFORD, Conn.–Exhibit and conference organizer dmg :: events has appointed Galen Poss to the newly created role of chief operating officer, reporting directly to Suresh Kavan, chairman and chief operating officer.

Poss will oversee the growth of the company’s five business units, one of which includes several trade shows, such as the New York International Gift Fair and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.

Poss is a veteran of the exhibition and events industries and was president of Hanley-Wood Exhibitions from its inception in January 2000 until June of 2009. Previously he was group president of Miller Freeman, Inc. with responsibility for the real estate, design, decorated apparel, sewn products, building, association management and equine markets, as well as the company’s South American division and corporate exhibition central services.
