KENNESAW, Ga.–Invista’s Dacron brand team marked Independence Day by shipping hundreds of miniature pillows to U.S. medical units in Afghanistan.

Each of the pillows bears the Dacron fiber quality seal. The Dacron group also donated a bale of its fiberfill to Pillows for Patriots, an organization founded by two mothers of military personnel, which provides compact pillows for combat troops stationed all over the world. The fiberfill will be used by Harris Pillow Supply, a manufacturer based in Beaufort, S.C., to produce thousands of the miniature pillows for Pillows for Patriots.

A statement from Invista noted that pillows are typically not a government-issued item for these troops, who are often on the move in battle conditions. The pillows ticketed for the medical unit will be used to provide comfort to both patients and caregivers in these facilities.
