WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich.–Crypton and Richloom Fabrics Group have signed a license agreement whereby Richloom will manufacture Crypton fabrics in its facility in Hangzhou, China.

Under the terms of the agreement, Richloom will also become a distributor for Crypton fabrics in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. According to a Crypton statement, the license will enable easier distribution of the company’s products in these geographical areas. Before the agreement, Crypton shipped fabrics made in the United States to China, a process that was “costly and time-consuming,” the statement said.

Randy Rubin, co-founder of Crypton, said the agreement presents a “significant growth opportunity” for the company. The decision to partner with Richloom was made because of “the company’s years of experience and because it was best suited to incorporate Crypton’s proprietary manufacturing processes,” Rubin said.
