Bloomberg Proclaims Textiles Market Weeks in New York City

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has proclaimed the weeks of Jan. 29-to-Feb. 4 and Aug. 13-to-Aug. 19, 2010, as Home Textiles Market Weeks.
According to a statement from GLM, owner and manager of the New York International Gift Fair, Bloomberg cited the economic benefit and integrity of the market, along with the “efficient partnership” of the Gift Fair with the showroom buildings 7 W New York and 230 Fifth Ave. Combined, the showroom buildings and the gift-fair venues of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 present more than 600 home-textiles exhibitors during the fair and the concurrent New York Home Textiles Market Week, the statement said.
For the upcoming market, 7 W New York will open on Friday, Jan. 29, while the Gift Fair and 230 Fifth Ave. will open on Saturday, Jan. 30. All three market locations will run through Thursday, Feb. 4.
