STOCKHOLM, Sweden–Bemz, the Web-based slipcover manufacturer, has formed a collaboration with Marimekko, the print design house, on a line of slipcovers for Ikea furniture.
Beginning on May 27, Bemz will manufacture slipcovers using Marimekko patterns to be offered on Ikea furniture throughout the world. The initial collection will consist of 11 patterns. In a Bemz statement, Lesley Pennington, the company’s founder, said the collection will be available for 70 Ikea sofa and chair models. Also, Marimekko textiles can be mixed and matched with the entire Bemz product range, the statement added.
All Marimekko textiles for Bemz are made from 100 percent natural fibers and are 100 percent machine-washable, the statement said. In addition, all of Bemz’s slipcovers are available for Ikea sofas and chair, including both current and discontinued models.
