WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–More than 33,500 attendees were logged at last week’s New York International Gift Fair, according to a statement from GLM, the show’s owner and manager.
That marked an increase of 6.5 percent over the Gift Fair in summer 2009. Attendees came from all 50 states and 85 countries throughout the world, GLM said. In addition, 2,800 companies exhibited at NYIGF, the most since summer 2008. These included an estimated 400 exhibitors that were new to the show and 250 that returned after a hiatus.
The Gift Fair marked the debut of the new Baby & Child division, the reorganization of the Handmade division into Handmade Designer Maker and Handmade Global Design, and the return of New York’s Newest. Handmade overall celebrated its 25th anniversary at the summer NYIGF.
Next winter’s Gift Fair is scheduled for Jan. 29 through Feb. 3, 2011, at its usual locations in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94 in New York City.
