WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–The New York International Gift Fair, scheduled from Saturday, Jan. 30, through Thursday, Feb. 4, will debut The Licensing Gallery, a new business-to-business resource connecting surface designers, artists and licensing agents.
Featuring a maximum of 30 participants, The Licensing Gallery will be adjacent to At Home, Ex*Tracts and Personal Accessories on Level One of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“This positioning of art and design resources alongside home fashion, personal care and fashion accessory producers offers a unique synergy between creators of artwork for product application and manufacturers utilizing licensed artwork in product design and manufacture,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president.
For the initial launch, participation in the gallery will be offered exclusively to those companies that will exhibit at the May 2010 Surtex show, which is geared to the sale and license of art and design. Trade show organizer GLM said The Licensing Gallery is expected to be attended by manufacturers and marketers of gift, home and lifestyle products and non-exhibiting manufacturers such as fabric companies.
“This is a unique first quarter opportunity for artists and licensing agents to meet gift and home manufacturers, at a market distinguished by the style and sophistication of its product offerings,” said Penny Sikalis, Surtex show manager and GLM vice president.
