WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–GLM, owner and manager of the New York International Gift Fair, will host a memorial to Carol Sedestrom Ross, its emeritus director of craft marketing, during this August’s Gift Fair.

Ross died of a heart attack on June 14. The memorial will highlight her contributions to the American craft movement. The memorial will be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City on Aug. 14.

Ross was founder and chief executive officer of American Craft Enterprises, which she began in 1975. She later served as senior vice president of the American Craft Council. She joined GLM in 1992 as director of craft marketing, where she was responsible for the expansion of the Handmade division of the Gift Fair. Ross also initiated Handmade sections at other GLM gift shows, and managed the jury process for all of the Handmade sections.
