TRINIDAD, Colo.–Danielson Designs, a designer and manufacturer of such wall decor items as plaques and frames, has won a Stevie Award for Best Corporate Responsibility Program for companies with fewer than 100 employees for this year’s American Business Awards program, which were presented in New York on June 12.
The company was also a finalist in the Best Overall Company category for companies with less than 100 employees.
“We are thrilled and honored to win in the category of Best Corporate Responsibility Program and be recognized by such a prestigious organization as the American Business Awards,” said Mark Danielson, who is co-founder and co-owner of Danielson Designs with his wife, Annie.
The company has a profit-sharing program that distributes to employees based on years of service and not salary or title. The Danielsons also donate money to dig water wells in Africa and, back in their town, help restore the downtown area with such programs as founding a professional repertory theatre company.
Created to honor the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide, the Stevie Award name is taken from the name Stephen, which is derived from the Greek for “crowned,” according to the Stevie Award Web site.
