Dallas Market Center and Accessories Resource Team Announce 21st Annual ARTS Award Finalists

DALLAS–The finalists for the 21st Annual ARTS awards have been announced by the Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team (ART). The ARTS award program targets the home decorative accessories industry and takes place each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.
The finalists for the manufacturing awards include: Bailey Street, Guildmaster, Palecek and Vintage for Accent Furniture; Jaipur Rugs, Loloi Rugs and Surya for Area Rugs; Arteriors Home, Global Views, Imax Corp., Lazy Susan USA, and Midwest-CBK for Decorative Accessories; Blissliving Home, Mario & Marielena, Reilly-Chance Collection and Saro Trading Company for Home Textiles; E.L.K. Lighting, Kalco Lighting, Uncommon Radiance, and Visual Comfort & Co. for Lighting Fixtures; Emissary, Mainly Baskets, Seasonal Living, and Selamat Designs for Outdoor Living; A Touch of Silk, Distinctive Designs, Foster’s Point, and Immortalis Botanicals for Permanent Floral; Barbara Cosgrove Lamps, Gallery Designs, Sedgefield by Adams, Sterling Industries, and The Bradburn Company for Portable Lamps; Abigails, Beatriz Ball Collection, Juliska, and Milani Home for Tabletop; and Artisan Home, Paragon, Roma, Uttermost, and Wendover Art Group for Wall Decor.
Sales representative finalists include: Brittain Cherry of Ogburn-Cherry & Associates, Creighton Boyd Bostrom of Bostrom Lighting Sales, and Kathy Kralich of Style Connection Ltd., for the East/Atlantic region; Denise S. Smith of In-Detail, Derrick Ricketts of Codarus, and Julia Elliman of Goetz Inc. for Midwest/Southwest; and Janice Campbell of California Marketing Associates, Kim Runager of Dillon Wells and Laura Fast of OneCoast for the West region.
Finalists for the Product Designer award include: David Daugherty, Vintage; J. Michael Sandel, Guildmaster; Jason Phillips, The Phillips Collection; Maria Hoo, Roma; and Palmer Earley, Architects & Heroes Interiors.
Ma Maison, in Mexico City, Mexico, and Pine Lighting, in Victoria, British Columbia, are the finalists for the International Retail Store award.
The Rising Star Retailer finalists are Bravado Home & Design, in Portland, Ore.; Patina, in Marble Falls, Texas; and Three Doors, in Houston.
U.S. retailers are divided into the categories of Furniture Store, Home Accent Store and Lighting Showroom. For the Furniture Store category, finalists include: Albert’s Interiors in Newtown Square, Pa., and Sedlak Interiors in Solon, Ohio, in the East/Atlantic region; High Fashion Home in Houston, HW Home in Boulder, Colo. and The Arrangement in Dallas for the Midwest/Southwest region; and Homescapes Carmel in Carmel, Calif. and von Hemert Interiors in Costa Mesa, Calif., for the West region.
In the Home Accent Store category, finalists include: Ambiance Interiors & Gifts, Inc. in Suwanee, Ga. and Duh for Garden and Home in Pensacola, Fla. in the East/Atlantic region; Burlap Horse in Boerne, Texas, Kuhl-Linscomb in Houston, and The Home Accessory Co. in San Antonio, Texas, for the Midwest/Southwest region; and Grace Home Furnishings in Los Angeles, The French Bee in Phoenix, and Vintage Villas in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the West category.
In the Lighting Showroom category, the following are finalists: Capital Lighting, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, Southern Lighting Gallery of Augusta, Ga., and WAGE Lighting & Design of Feasterville, Pa. for the East/Atlantic region; Foothills Lighting in Denver and Light by Design in San Antonio, Texas, for the Midwest/Southwest region; and James Ashjian Lighting and Home in Fresno, Calif., The Lite Company if Flagstaff, Ariz., and Western Montana Lighting in Missoula, Mont., for the West region.
All finalists will now submit a detailed portfolio to a panel of judges, which will convene in November to review each submission and complete judging. The award winners will be announced at January’s gala, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, in The Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart.
