ATLANTA-The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market begins today as scheduled, and runs through Wednesday, Jan. 19. Although Atlanta is experiencing sub-freezing temperatures and icy road conditions, all four Mart buildings are open for business. All market showrooms will be open until 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday as scheduled; showrooms will also be open extended hours on Thursday and Sunday until 8 p.m.

Atlanta’s snowfall stopped on Monday and the city is working diligently to clear streets throughout the city, said Tara King, spokeswoman for AmericasMart, this morning. Conditions continue to improve, she added, and both exhibitors and buyers were in the buildings first thing this morning.

According to travel updates posted on the AmericasMart website, www.americasmart.com, Atlanta’s mass transit, MARTA, is running and has an immediate stop at Peachtree Center station, which is connected to the bottom of Building 1.

For travelers concerned about how their hotel reservations may be impacted by weather-related travel delays, AmericasMart said its partner hotels are being flexible with adjusting reservations, especially for those who made reservations through AmericasMart Travel Services.
