Uttermost Names Parsons Designer; Opens High Point Satellite Showroom

Uttermost Showroom

Uttermost will open a satellite showroom in Market Square.

ROCKY MOUNT, Va.–Jim Parsons, the founder of GuildMaster and its former CEO and designer, has joined Uttermost as designer. Parsons has designed products globally, including product for a number of the top licensing brands, as well as private collections for several furniture manufacturers. He has also owned six different home furnishing stores.

Parsons will be working across several product categories at Uttermost, and his first collection will debut early next year.

“Jim is a talented designer with a long history of producing great design,” said Mac Cooper, Uttermost president. “Even more importantly, he is a person who takes the time from his work schedule to help support the adoption and foster care training for children in China. It’s an honor to work with Jim.”

In addition, Uttermost will open a satellite showroom in Market Square for High Point Market, which opens Saturday. This additional showroom, almost 5,000 square feet, features contemporary product across all of its product categories.

Uttermost’s main showroom, C-448 in IHFC, has almost 20,000 square feet and a great selection of contemporary product, Cooper said, “but it can get lost in our maze of product. This satellite showroom allows us to show a clear concentration of contemporary furniture, lighting, wall decor, rugs and accessories without the distraction of our more complete offering.”

The Market Square showroom will also be more casual in both products offered and operations. “We want this satellite showroom to be very comfortable, very approachable, where customers can take a quick look at the contemporary product we offer.”

Both the IHFC and Market Square showrooms use the same market scanning and accounting systems, so buyers can shop in either or both showrooms seamlessly.
