DALLAS–Employees of home furnishings and accessories importer Southern Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) recently joined together to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas (DSG).
Each year, the DSG hosts the Buddy Walk, a fun-filled day that includes a one-mile walk, live music, food truck vendors and activities for the whole family.
SEI’s team was spearheaded by Talor Milstein, who has been with SEI for more than 12 years and lives with Down Syndrome. This year, Milstein raised more than $16,000 through support letters and combined efforts with SEI. In total, the Buddy Walk raised $297,000, exceeding its goal by $37,000. These efforts will support Down syndrome research and awareness, as well as aid the Down syndrome community by providing wheel chairs, physical therapy and more to more than 1,400 local families.
This year’s event took place on Nov. 4, and more than 9,000 people participated, including the Honorary Chairpersons and popular Dallas radio personalities Kellie Raspberry and Big Al Mack.
