LAS VEGAS–Rock legend Rod Stewart will headline the grand opening of World Market Center’s Building C on July 28, officially kicking off the 2008 summer Las Vegas Market.
The festivities will start with a Las Vegas-style ribbon-cutting ceremony with project officials and special guests at the end of the market’s opening day in the newly completed Grand Plaza. Then, Stewart will take center stage in this free concert for market attendees. “Food, spirits and a barrage of surprises will be on hand throughout the evening,” WMC officials said.
This market will be the first one in which all exhibitors, including all temporaries, will be housed on the 5 million-square-foot World Market Center campus. A new parking complex will also open this market. The 16-story Building C, designed by architect Jon Jerde, houses more than 500 exhibitors, including temporaries.
The summer 2008 Las Vegas Market runs from July 28 to Aug. 1.
