NEW YORK–The Conran Shop has named Emmanuel Plat president of The Conran Shop New York. Having been at The Conran Shop since 1992, Plat has served as vice president of the New York store since 2004.
It is a new position at the company.

Plat began with The Conran Shop when Sir Terence Conran opened up his first store in rue du Bac, Paris, in 1992. In 1998, Plat moved to New York and became the buying director for the U.S. operation. Since 1999, he has partnered with such companies and designers as Philippe Starck, Karim Rashid, James Dyson, and Nigella Lawson to introduce new products to the U.S. market.
This fall, The Conran Shop will premiere Inspirations and 20 Products, based on a book of the same name by Sir Conran to be published next year, and 20 exclusive, well-designed products, respectively.
