NEW YORK–Nautica Apparel has reached a new category and licensing agreement with Vendor Development Group for a line of residential outdoor furnishings.
The products in this line will include seating, dining, occasional furniture, independent and coordinating patio and garden umbrellas, outdoor rugs, outdoor fireplaces, gazebos and hammocks. Produced in aluminum and wood, the collection has designs featuring sailing hardware and details such as a sail cord, rope and grommets. According to a Nautica statement, the line will make its debut at better outdoor/patio furniture retailers in spring 2009.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Terry Byrnes, president of Vendor Development Group, said the Nautica designs “will be a breath of fresh air” for the outdoor casual-furniture market.
