National Home Furnishings Month Promotes Partnerships

       

       

LAS VEGAS-Participation in the second annual National Home Furnishings Month in September increased 30 percent over the inaugural year, according to World Market Center Las Vegas, which sponsored the event.

More than 9,000 retailers nationwide participated in the marketing initiative, which included taking advantage of a listing on the homeyet.com store locator section, a complementary toolkit and in-store promotions. The 2010 campaign also featured a month-long home mortgage sweepstakes that retailers promoted in their stores and online during the month of September.

The broad-based initiative focused on creating extensive partnerships with retailers nationwide and leveraged prominent online platforms such as Facebook and MarthaStewart.com. In addition, a satellite radio tour featuring HGTV’s Monica Pedersen aired nearly 1,600 times during September.
