NEW YORK–Showcasing the design style of the Lombardy region of Italy, Living the Italian House in Soho will recreate five spaces using items from 35 innovative design companies at an event that launches Oct. 27 and runs through Dec. 20.
Created by Promos, a specialized division of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, and Regione Lombardia, the house will include more than 150 products from such companies as Luceplan, Bizzari and Bodema.
Located at 172 Mercer St., the house will include a kitchen and dining room, a living room with garden, an office and entertainment room, a bathroom/spa and a bedroom.
The event will also host about 20 events and film screenings, including such lectures as “Turn on the Lights!” “Visions, Materials, and New Trends to Live in the Future,” “Feeding the Body and Soul” and “Sustainability: Italian Style.” The films were selected to give a detailed overview of contemporary Italian life and include the 2001 Palme d’Or award winner at the Cannes Film Festival, “La Stanza del figlio (The Son’s Room).”
