LAS VEGAS–The recent Las Vegas Market posted an increase of 19 percent in the number of international retail-buyer attendees and 7 percent more buyers from the Northeast, according to figures provided in a statement from World Market Center.
Also, the market welcomed more than 6,500 new buyer attendees, 100 new exhibitors and more than 1,500 manufacturers and product lines. Overall, attendance was off 4 percent from last July’s market, World Market Center said. The market did maintain its historic average of 50,000 registrations.
For the fall 2009 market, scheduled for Sept. 14 to Sept. 17, World Market Center has recorded more than 10,000 preregistrations. This total reflects “the optimism of the (home-furnishings) industry,” World Market Center said.
