BOULDER, Colo.–The Sogno massage chair from Inada has been honored with the Innovation Award from the Consumer Electronics Association.
The chair received the award at the CEA’s Best of Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards in New York City. An Inada statement said the Sogno chair provides more than 1,200 square inches of massage that is customized for 106 body types. It applies shiatsu-style massage techniques and includes massage options for young and old people, including full shoulder and neck air massage with neck-traction capabilities, shoulder-to-fingertip arm massage, arching full-body stretch and rotational stretching of middle and lower back, and air-compression options for youth and older adults.
The chair also features the trademarked DreamWave technology, which offers a gentle, undulating figure-eight motion that mimics the way a massage therapist balances the body during a shiatsu massage session.
