ICFA to Honor Designer Richard Frinier With Lifetime Achievement Award

CHICAGO–Internationally acclaimed furniture designer Richard Frinier will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Casual Furnishings Industry next month. The award, which is reserved for individuals making significant contributions to the industry, is given to two luminaries each year. Frinier will be sharing this honor with Art Thompson, the retired founder and president of Lane Venture
Frinier’s design career began in the 1970s as a sculptor, lighting and casegoods designer. He went to work for Brown Jordan in the early 1980s where he started as a staff designer and stayed for 22 years becoming the company’s principal designer and chief creative officer. In 2002, Frinier retired from Brown Jordan and then formed his own creative consultancy with his wife and partner, Catherine, a marketing and communications specialist.
Since starting his own consultancy, Frinier has designed over 20 new furniture collections, 500 textile designs, and more than 20 lighting designs for well known brands including co-branded and exclusively licensed collections with Dedon, Century Furniture, Glen Raven/Sunbrella, Currey & Company, and more.
