HIGH POINT, N.C.–Finalists for the prestigious 2008 Apollo Awards were announced last evening by the International Casual Furnishings Association. The annual awards recognize retail excellence in selling and marketing outdoor furnishings. Among other things, finalists must have demonstrated “commitment to customer service,” according to an ICFA statement.
Winners will be announced at a gala awards banquet on Sept. 17 at the International Casual Furniture & Accessories market in Chicago, which will be held at the city’s Navy Pier.
In the single-store category, finalists include Dodds & Eder of Oyster Bay, N.Y.; Fruehauf’s Patio and Garden of Boulder, Colo; and Kolo Collection of Atlanta. Also in single-store are Leisure Living of Salt Lake City; Sunnyland Furniture of Dallas; and Williams Patio Furniture of Highland Park, Ill.
In the multistore category, finalists include Carl’s Patio of Coconut Creek, Fla.; Greenhouse Mall of Austin, Texas; and Paddy O’Furniture of Phoenix. Also in multistore are Patios Plus of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; Yard & Stucky Patio of Fort Myers, Fla.; and Yard Art & Fireplace of Irvine, Texas.
