HPMA to Sponsor Seminar Series

HIGH POINT, N.C.–The High Point Market Authority is sponsoring a series of six seminars focused on business-building ideas for independent retailers and interior designers, during the upcoming High Point Market.
The series will begin on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. with a seminar on global color trends, to be delivered by Mark Woodman, North American “ambassador” for MIX magazine and Global Color Research. At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Mary Knackstedt, founder and president of Knackstedt inc., will present “Where Is the Profit in This Business?” which will focus on the differences between design firms that are profitable and those that are having problems. At 4 p.m., “Trends Through a Kaleidoscope of Design,” a session on hot design trends, will be offered by Ellen Gefen, producer of thehome.com and High Point Market Live.
On Monday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m., Cinda Baxter, founder of The 3/50 Project, will give the series’ keynote address on her company, which develops materials that help independent retailers reach out to customers. Dusty Staub, principle of Staub leadership, will follow Baxter with a talk on strategies, tactics and processes for leading a business through periods of intense change. The final seminar will be “Credit Collections and the Accounts Receivable Tool Kit,” to be offered by Jonathan Burke of United Asset Group at 4 p.m.
