Living up to its commitment to provide “the largest selection of fashion forward lighting that is always in style,” the company introduced a slew of offerings featuring modern design. A highlight for the company was Dario (pictured), a contemporary table lamp with chrome metal base, mirror body and black transparent mylar shade. “It’s one of the top sellers for this show,” the company said. “People love the contemporary look of this lamp, and the combination of mirror body and black transparent mylar shade.” lite-source.com
Arteriors Home
For her new collection with Arteriors Home, designer Laura Kirar said she was working on her fabric designs and therefore in a textiles-frame of mind when she created Tassel, shown here. “I wanted to create a simple piece,” and use fewer than three materials, Kirar told HFN. The designer, who is often influenced by her travels, was inspired by handmade antique passementarie trim seen in a grand old hotel in Santiago, Chile for Tassel. Other new items in her collection included Bilbao, a play on the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and its titanium exterior; Ice, made of polished and faceted heavy glass based on an icicle covered street lamp; and Dots, matte white pendants with raised dots. Tassel is available as a table lamp in black and navy or white, and as a white pendant. arteriorshome.com
Softline Home Fashions
Two new window programs joined the company’s lineup for High Point Market. Presidents Scroll, seen here, is a traditional taffeta with a scroll appliqué. The panels are designed to bring elegance and style to a room. It comes in 11 colors and is available as ready-made panels. It also comes with matching decorative pillows or fabric by the bolt. The other new product, Aprica, presents a linen look that is slightly sheer, which can work either indoors or outdoors. It’s made with Softline’s eco-friendly Guardin technology, which allows the fabric to repel water and not fade from exposure to the sun. It comes in 20 colors, ranging from neutrals that blend with any decor to bright colors intended to bring a dash of color to the room. It’s available in ready-made panels, decorative pillows and fabric by the bolt as well. High Point Market is the latest addition to Softline’s trade-show schedule, which also includes Las Vegas Market and the New York Home Fashions Market. softlineonline.com

Feiss
Lighting company Feiss introduced 54 standalone mirror designs, from bathroom items to home decor. “We haven’t been in mirrors for many years,” said Maria Scutaro, president. “The reaction has been really nice.” Products include the Pauline mirror, which features white arabesque scroll work on a black background, the Discus design of the traditional sunburst design made of layered wood, the elliptically shaped Johnson mirror, the scalloped edged Scalloped item with hand-applied silver leaf finish, and, shown here, the Melanie mirror. Sharon Paisley, product manager for Feiss portables and mirrors, said she “strived to create pieces that can be combined for an eclectic look, as consumers become more comfortable in mixing styles.” The company also brought 65 new portables to market, including more items made of ceramics and metal. “We haven’t done much before with metals,” said Scutaro. “But we wanted earthy finishes.” feiss.com
Lexington
Most tours of the giant Lexington showroom at market culminated with a viewing of the Aquarius collection, an eye-popping group of furniture and accent items crafted from a wide array of materials including polished stainless, faux leather, colored glass, Lucite and exotic veneers. “I thought I’d save the best for last,” said tour-giver Shannon Baugh, Lexington’s marketing manager. Lexington’s goal for Aquarius was to redefine home furnishings as art, and it’s hard to argue with evidence such as the Aria chest (pictured). “Modern design today defies traditional or contemporary stereotypes in favor of a unique and very personal statement of style,” the company said. lexington.com
Interlude Home
Interlude Home mingled teak and cracked resin together for the first time at market, transforming them into the Cairns resin and teak side table (#129008), shown here. “As the country seems to be moving towards an ‘approachable contemporary’ environment, we wanted to explore mixing organic materials with ones traditionally thought of as strictly contemporary, like resin,” Wendy King Philips, vice president, creative director, Interlude Home/Weiman, told HFN. “The result of this marriage created contemporary organic pieces, all one of kind, which are beautiful but not intimidating.” interludehome.com
