LITCHFIELD, Conn.–Contemporary rug manufacturer Emma Gardner Design has partnered up with Wendell Castle Collection to launch a new program of fine case goods that will feature new and modified graphic designs by Gardner. With some introductions to be seen at the upcoming Westweek in Los Angeles, the full collection will be formally unveiled at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York this May, as well as at exclusive showroom events this spring.
Targeting the residential, hospitality and contract markets, the line will include Opus, an adaptable case in five standard patterns and colors, Swirl, Earrings, Tile Motif, Istanbul and Whole Baby Fish.
“To enter the furniture category with an artist of Wendell’s caliber and the people at the Wendell Castle Collection is a tremendous opportunity,” said Emma Gardner, chief designer and principal. “This kind of project opens the door to think about color and pattern in a way quite different from the way I approach soft goods such as rugs and throw blankets.”
