Guangzhou, China, will once again become the home furnishings capital of Asia in September when the doors open on the 24th edition of the China International Furniture Fair, set for Sept. 6 to 9.
The twice-yearly show is held at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, the southern China city that staked its claim in international trade when it was known as Canton to westerners.
China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Corp., the show’s sponsor, has outlined four highlights for this fall’s event, which the company said promotes both “export orientation” as well as “domestic market expansion.”
First off, the company announced, the show is some 15 percent larger than last year’s event and now occupies over 1.6 million square feet of exhibition space.
Among the brands that will be on hand at the show are many larger Chinese companies including: Landbond, Hing Lee, Kinwai, Zuoyou, Red Apple, Zhi Hao, Steel-Land, Wenhua Spirit, Ding Feng, Noble and Tian Yuan. Show organizers emphasized that in addition to the larger companies, the increased floor space will allow for more new suppliers to exhibit.
The show is not restricted to just furniture, the second point organizers stress. In addition, suppliers will show home decor, housewares, home textiles and outdoor products as well as both modern and classical furniture.
The Show’s sponsor also said the timing in September was optimum for the furniture industry. “September is the hot season for the furniture industry,” it said in a release, while also touting the proximity of the show to the manufacturing centers in Southern China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The fourth point the company wanted to emphasize was that the show infrastructure, after 12 years of events, was well-tuned and professional in nature. From the layout of the show floor to the seminars and activities planned in conjunction with the Fair, it said, “Professional service facilitates your participation.”
