Catskill Craftsmen Receives Alf Evers Award

STAMFORD, N.Y.–Catskill Craftsmen, which domestically manufactures ready-to-assemble kitchen carts, islands, and cutting boards, has recently received the Alf Evers Award for Excellence by the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development because of its green practices and contributions to the local economy.
The company uses only domestic North American hardwoods purchased from local sawmills to ensure the wood comes from well-managed forests that meet New York City Watershed requirements. The company, in business for more than 60 years, also does not create any wood waste as all wood scraps are turned into wood pellet fuel and then used by employees and local homeowners as an alternative energy source.
The award, named after a renowned regional historian, was one of four presented to local businesses this year.
