LAS VEGAS–Bassett Furniture Industries has singed a multiyear lease deal with the World Market Center in Las Vegas for a 20,000 square-foot showroom.
The space is located in room 953 of building A. Describing it as “a key step in our strategic plan for growth,” Robert Spilman Jr., Bassett’s president and CEO, added, “Showing in Las Vegas enables us to better serve our western dealers and our stores there, not to mention acquiring new accounts who we do not currently serve in High Point.”
According to a statement from the World Market Center, the showroom will be open for the upcoming Las Vegas Market from Jan. 30-Feb. 3. Bassett will also expand its presence at High Point, where it already has 45,000 square feet of space in rooms C1200 and C1003 at the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC).
Bassett was the largest shareholder in the IHFC prior to its acquisition by International Market Centers (IMC) earlier this year. Since that acquisition took place, the manufacturer has held a minor ownership in IMC.
