ARCADIA, Wis.–Ashley Furniture, the industry’s largest supplier, has restructured its sales operations into three divisions, representing its three key core product categories.
Each unit will be responsible for sales for all the company’s brands, replacing separate selling operations that had been based on those brands, creating redundancies, according to the company. The new system will be more efficient and customer-focused, said Todd Wanek, chief executive officer.
The three units will be: Case Goods, including bedroom, dining room and top-of-the-bed sold under its Ashley, Millennium and Signature Design by Ashley brand names; Motion Upholstery, including fabric and leather motion products, lift-top and caster occasional tables, home office and wall/entertainment centers; and Stationary Upholstery, which will also include occasional tables, lamps, rugs, throws, pillows and tabletop accessories.
The new structure, effective Jan. 1, 2010, will reposition the company’s independent sales force into those three units, rather than by brand. The three vice presidents of sales are now regionally focused, handling all three new divisions.
