LAS VEGAS–The Rug Market is scheduled to launch the Walt Disney Signature line of area rugs this month at the Las Vegas Market. The multiyear agreement with Disney Home is for a line of non-character, adult designs inspired by the vision of Walt Disney himself.
While the rugs are inspired by classic Disney films such as “Fantasia,” “Cinderella,” “Dumbo” and “Peter Pan,” they are intended for a stylish and grown-up consumer.
Mike Shabtai, chief executive officer of The Rug Market, said the company updated classic rug designs into more contemporary pieces using New Zealand wool and viscose for durability and elegance.
The rugs are meant to complement other home furnishings under the Disney Home brand name, such as furniture by Drexel Heritage and lighting by Minka.
The area rug line will hit retail stores this May.
