ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.–Designer Michael Payne, original host of HGTV’s Designing for the Sexes and author of Let’s Ask Michael, has teamed up with contemporary rug company Foreign Accents to develop a new line of rugs. The line will debut this fall at the Las Vegas and High Point markets, and will be hand-tufted in Favriel, Foreign Accents’ signature modified acrylic yarn that has a wool-like hand.
“I am honored to be involved with this progressive, creative company with an acknowledged reputation as a premier contemporary rug supplier in the United States,” Payne said. “Foreign Accents manufactures high-quality area rugs in a variety of stunning designs, and I welcome the opportunity to become part of their creative force.”
The Michael Payne Home Collection will include designs inspired by nature as well as commonplace items, Payne added. “For instance, the Los Angeles freeway network inspired me to interpret that system into a graphic design for an area rug.”
“We are very excited to be working with Michael Payne,” said Trish Rempen, president and chief executive officer, Foreign Accents. “Our partnership is a natural fit given his passion for clean, contemporary design, his association with other leading contemporary home furnishings companies and our 25-year history making contemporary rugs.”
