Scheduled for Feb. 2 to 4 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center here, Surfaces will provide flooring professionals numerous opportunities to both see new product and take advantage of an extensive educational program.
With close to 350,000 net square feet of exhibit space, the show will also have such exhibitions as Above the Baseboard, which focuses on products such as countertops, window and wall coverings and sinks, and international pavilions, showcasing companies and products from such countries as India, China, Mexico and Italy.
In addition, both Surfaces and Las Vegas Market show organizers have announced that attendees to one show will be able to visit the other one as well, as they have agreed to accept each event’s registration credentials, transportation vouchers and discounts on education. Las Vegas Market will run concurrently from Feb. 1 to 5.
Surfaces will kick off its show with a general session titled “Facing Challenges and Winning: A Retail Power Panel,” on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. On Wednesday, Feb. 3, HGTV’s Kim Myles, host of Myles of Style, will be the keynote speaker at Surfaces’ Designer Day Luncheon at noon.
Learning how trends are forecasted will be at the heart of a seminar sponsored by Wools of New Zealand, titled, “Design Directives—Why Trends Emerge, Fads Fade and Classic Style Lives on Forever.” The three-hour, CEU-accredited seminar will be led by Deborah Burnett, a design authority and epigenetic design researcher. Epigenetic design looks at the relationship between genetics and the built environment with the target of creating a space that supports wellness. Design Directives is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Other Surfaces seminars include Marketing in a Recession 101 on Feb. 1 at 9 a.m.; and “Social Media 101” and “Ten Tips for Today’s Economy,” which are both scheduled to begin at noon on Feb. 2.
