ATLANTA–The stage is set for Shaw Innovations, the manufacturers’ annual regional flooring market, to be held at AmericasMart simultaneously with the first three days of the International Area Rug Market next week. The event marks the first time the company has held a regional market in conjunction with another market or wholesale buying event.
The company said it made the decision to host Shaw Innovations during the Atlanta market time frame, and in the same location, to optimize retailer accessibility, convenience and selection. To accommodate the event, a custom-designed gallery, scheduled to fill the entire first-floor exhibit hall of AmericasMart, will be in place to further support the existing 13,000-square-foot Shaw Living showroom on the sixth floor. The combined exhibits will encompass Shaw’s full product spectrum, including residential and commercial carpeting, wood and laminate flooring, ceramic tiles, area rugs, carpet cushion, Anso nylon recyclable carpets and rugs, and other flooring products.
In other company news, Shaw has signed on to sponsor the 2008 HGTV Green Home Giveaway, a national sweepstakes in which viewers and fans can enter to win the HGTV Green Home. The sweepstakes kicks off March 28 and runs through May 16. The home itself is located near the resort town of Hilton Head, S.C., and will be fully furnished and designed with eco-friendly products and materials. Designer Linda Woodrum, who has worked on the past 10 HGTV Dream Homes, will head the design and decorative aspects of the project, while HGTV’s Green Home house planner, Jack Thomasson, will oversee the construction.
Sponsor partners, such as Shaw, will have the bonus of being able to highlight their eco-friendly products to the HGTV audience. All the Shaw products being used for the home fit into the Shaw Green Edge, an umbrella term for the program Shaw created to focus on environmental initiatives.
Viewers will be able to take a virtual tour of the home and learn about green design and eco-friendly products at hgtv.com/hgtv/green_home.
