CONCORD, N.H.–Walter Chapin, co-founder and president of Company C, has been named to the GoodWeave Standards Committee, which will work to develop a new standard that carries out the organization’s mission.

RugMark’s GoodWeave label was launched last fall to replace the 15-year-old RugMark label, as the organization sought to add environmental and social standards to its mission of eradicating child labor.

In his role as a member of the Standards Committee, Chapin will work with experts and industry leaders of child rights, worker rights and environmental experts, carpet manufacturers/exporters, importers and retailers. 

In addition, nine rug companies recently joined the GoodWeave certification program: Indi-B, BravinLee Editions, Concept Interiors, ecoFiber Custom Rugs, Gary Cruz Studios, Inunoo Inuit Carpets, Liz Gamberg, Nepal Rugs & Carpets, and Serâser.
