Ebisons Harounian Imports has recently re-colored its Antique Tabriz pattern, which it introduced three years ago. The two new colors—aubergine and rust (pictured)—were all well received at the recent Atlanta Rug Market, said Michael Harounian, principal. A black colorway added last year has also performed well. The additional colors were added due to the fact that “we are very much in touch with current color trends in the upholstery and ladies’ fashions,” Harounian said. Most of the company’s introductions are antique reproductions, and other recently debuted patterns include Supreme, Mahal and Oushak. Handmade of 100 percent wool pile in India, the Antique Tabriz is available in six sizes, and the suggested retail price for a 6-by-9 is $2,199. ebisons.com

Safavieh heads to the outdoors for its new Courtyard collection, which debuted at the recent Las Vegas Market. Taking outdoor decorating to the next level, Courtyard offers seven new designs, each in four fashion-forward colorways that work together in related spaces. “Safavieh brings better technology than presently available in the outdoor rug market. … What’s out there are simple flat weaves, which allow only simple designs in one or two colors,” said Arash Yaraghi, principal. “At Safavieh we are taking the opposite approach and treating outdoor rugs the same as indoor rugs in terms of color and intricacy of design.” Unlike the flat weaves that are typically found in this category, he said, “We use a sisal weave that gives us the flexibility to use several different weaves in one rug,” and is produced on looms that can combine small and large loops, herringbone weaves and basket weaves in a single rug. Shown here in a style called Blossom, the rug patterns include interpretations of Japanese blossoms, branches, and wild flowers. The three-color rugs are offered in rust, sage, blue or brown colorways with accents of beige and taupe. Made in Belgium, these rugs are suitable inside or outside the house. safavieh.com

A hand-tufted collection of transitional designs, Ankara is woven in China of multitextured wool. Initially introduced in July with five patterns, the collection will add another six to the group. The style shown here is a new one called Serenity and available both in natural and mocha (pictured). Hand-tufted rugs have always been a large part of the business, the company said, and within that group casual and relaxed looks do very well. In Ankara, styles include simple florals and Asian themes, and six sizes are available, including a round. The suggested retail price on a 5-by-8 foot rug is $499. kasrugs.com
