CHARLOTTE, N.C.–Accessories Resource Team will premiere its new fundraiser, “Local ART—Artisans, Rhythm and Tastes,” during next month’s High Point Market. It will take place Monday, Oct. 15, from 7-9 p.m. in the event space between the International Home Furnishings Center and Showplace buildings.
Local ART will focus on local food, drink and music, and will cost $10 a person. Attendees will have their choice of modestly priced artisan fare from regionally based food trucks from Durham to Charlotte, N.C. and organically grown wine from Benjamin Vineyards and Winery, while music will be provided by the band Mipso. Locally brewed beer from Natty Greenes will be available to all as part of the $10 donation fee. The donation allows ART to fund educational opportunities at markets across the country throughout the year.
“Our intent is to expose market visitors to a full array of fresh and exciting offerings from this region, perhaps something they would have missed otherwise, all while networking with peers from every facet of the home industry,” said Doug Self, founder of j. douglas and chairman of ART’s host committee. “This is a real benefit of ART and our sponsors and the association are committed to community, industry education, sustainability and creativity. The event promises to be ongoing.”
