LANCASTER, Pa.–Armstrong expects to implement significant price increases, as high as 10 percent in some categories, this fall.
Paul Murfin, vice president of sales for the company, said “Despite two increases this year, [the company has] been unable to recover dramatic raw material increases, particularly in PVC resins, plasticizers and melamine.” Murfin said the issue is further compounded by increases in energy and transportation costs, which are adding pressure to the hardwood segment of the company’s business as well.
All products are affected, including vinyl composition tile, commercial sheet vinyl, commercial wallbase, linoleum, residential sheet and tile, luxury vinyl tile, select laminate products, adhesives and floor care products.
Specific increases will be finalized by mid-August and effective with shipments on Sept. 15.
