NEW YORK—ABC Carpet marked Earth Day with an exhibit featuring an assortment of limited-edition, sustainably designed rugs. The New Shades of “Green” exhibit and sale is scheduled to run through the end of June.
The exhibit features rugs from the Nabati Collection, Gee’s Bend Collection, Zollanvari and Woven Legends, each chosen as representative of the innovation and artistic evolution of sustainable design in the carpet industry. In fact, the retailer said, the featured collections have built their businesses on sustainable principles, adding that the demand for sustainable goods has promoted growth in cottage industries such as carpet weaving, and fostered creativity and evolution in design.
The New Shades of “Green” highlights an assortment that includes vegetable dyes combined with natural materials including hand spun wool and cotton, as well as specialty weaves such as Nabati Collection’s flatweave technique that was adapted from a remote village along the Caspian Sea.
The New Shades of “Green” is located on the 6th floor of ABC Carpet & Home’s Broadway location here.
