NEW YORK–The fifth annual New York International Carpet Show wrapped up last week, with attendees visiting dozens of rug vendors.
“We were very pleased with the market as were the vendors and attendees,” said Chris Collins, vice president and general manager, 7 W New York, where the trade show for high-end decorative and Oriental rugs was held. “I believe our partnership with the NYICS will help strengthen the market and have a positive effect on the industry as a whole.”
During the show, attendees participated in the Designer Day presentation, “Built Your Project from the Ground Up: The Decorative and Oriental Rug as Design Inspiration.”
Dennis Dodds, founder and owner of the show, added, “Against many challenges from the economy, our fifth anniversary show was a success, as retail trade buyers and interior designers found a diverse mix of handmade artisan carpets with fresh looks to choose from.”
In addition, 7 W’s last Designer Day of the year will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10. In conjunction with the International Furnishings and Design Association, 7 W New York will celebrate the Rising Stars of Interior Design with a cocktail reception, and then the evening’s program moderated by designer Jamie Drake.
