The Bombay Company Inks Rug License Deal with The Powell Company

NEW YORK—The Bombay Company has extended its partnership with The Powell Company to include a licensed collection of area rugs, to debut at next month’s High Point Market.

The collection will include more than 60 rug designs, in an array of styles to complement many decors, including geometric, classic, contemporary and transitional styles. Each rug will be handtufted from materials ranging from New Zealand wool blended with silk highlights to mod-polyester with stain-resistant polypropylene. The rugs will be available at three price points, ranging from $79 to $499.

In July, Bombay and Powell announced their first partnership, for a licensed line of accent seating, ottomans and benches, casual dining, youth bedroom furniture, accent furniture and small giftable items.

“We are pleased to expand our current offerings with The Powell Company to include a new rug collection that embodies timeless design and value luxury,” said Wil Hollands, president of Hermes-Otto International USA, owner of The Bombay Company brand. “Each rug was designed to complement the products currently offered through the Bombay and Powell furniture program.”

Jim Ziozis, CEO of The Powell Company, added, “High quality rugs are a natural extension to our Bombay furniture collection, allowing us to complete this great lifestyle look.”

Powell will unveil the collection in the Furniture Mart Building, 200 S. Main Street, space 100, at High Point Market.
