NEW YORK–The third annual Fashion’s Night Out takes place tonight to celebrate and support the fashion and retail industries.
While New York City is the center of the action, the event is spread across the globe in a number of cites, including Atlanta, Milan and Hollywood, Calif. Participating retailers will host parties and performances tonight for the event, which runs from 6-11 p.m. Event and retailer listings can be found at http://fashionsnightout.com.
Among the events is a preview of Target’s limited edition Missoni collection with a pop-up store at 1095 Sixth Ave. The first 20 guests who spend more than $100 will have the chance to take a family-style portrait with the Missoni family.
Fish’s Eddy will feature its newest collection of Charley Harper dinnerware designed by Todd Oldham. The evening will include a scavenger hunt and raffle. Prizes will include a complete set of Charley Harper dishes and a signed copy of Oldham’s Charley Harper book.
Nespresso’s New York locations on Madison Avenue and Prince Street will offer complimentary champagne cocktails and sweet pairings, DJ’d music and a $50 credit with any machine purchase of $279 or more.
New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire will appear both at Calvin Klein and Macy’s, while Kris Humphries—Kim Kardashian’s new husband—will be at Saks Fifth Avenue. Actress Tilda Swinton and singer Ne-Yo will also make appearances at Saks, while celebrity chef Sandra Lee and celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson are among Macy’s lineup for the evening. And the New York Jets Flight Crew Cheerleaders will sign their 2012 swimsuit calendars at Lord & Taylor.
At Bloomingdale’s, chefs Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow of The Meatball Shop will give a demonstration with All-Clad products, while designer Michael Aram and reality TV star and stylist Rachel Zoe will also make appearances to promote their collections. Eddie Cibrian, star of NBC’s “The Playboy Club” and the face of Charisma bedding, will be on hand to introduce Charisma’s new fall collection.
Celebrity stylist and E! Entertainment’s Fashion Police host George Kotsiopoulos will be at Swarovski to give mini styling consultations, while Nate Berkus will be on hand at the Taschen store on Greene Street.
