Sphinx by Oriental Weavers Receives Two ADDY Awards

DALTON, GA.–Sphinx by Oriental Weavers was honored with two ADDY awards in the American Advertising Federation’s southeast regional program. Sphinx’ 2011 Sphinx Product Catalog won the Gold ADDY in the Printed Catalog/Selling Tool category, while its Options Reversible Rugs Brochure received the Silver ADDY in the Four-Color Brochure category.

Presented last week in Chattanooga, Tenn., the AAF ADDY Awards Banquet showcases the best creative in advertising from all industries in the southeast. More than 400 entries were submitted for this year’s awards program. With its Gold ADDY award win, the catalog will now advance to the AAF’s National ADDY award finals.

The Sphinx graphic design and marketing team developed the new catalog with feedback from retail salespeople and was designed in a new horizontal format to allow for greater design detail and larger images of each rug. Lifestyle images were also incorporated, and the catalog has a durable, yet beautiful hard bound cover, among other features.

The Options brochure has a lenticular image showing how both sides of a reversible rug can be used in the same room and features half-page “flips” to show how each side of the rug looks in the same room setting.

“As soon as the 2011 Sphinx catalog hit our customers’ stores it received excellent reviews,” said Jonathan Witt, vice president, Oriental Weavers. “Our graphic designers, Jim Kooi and Ryan Casey, have really outdone themselves on this year’s catalog.
