HIGH POINT, N.C.-It looks to be an eventful High Point Market for the rug industry, as rug manufacturers and suppliers will be hosting a number of celebrities and celebrations — with food and drink, of course. Make sure to add these events to your market to-do list.

Saturday, Oct. 13:

10:30 a.m.: The Powell Company cuts ribbon on its new Bombay-licensed section of rugs, furniture and accessories. National Furniture Mart, 100

12 noon: Art Resources cuts ribbon on new showroom. Market Square, 294

2 p.m.: Celebrity designer and HGTV host Candice Olson will make a special appearance at the Surya showroom to discuss the design inspirations behind her product line with the company. Surya will also offer buyers breakfast, lunch and hor d’oeuvres every day of market. Showplace, 4100

2-4 p.m.: Shaw Living will host artist Bob Timberlake during a meet and greet with attendees. IHFC, G371

Sunday, Oct. 14:

Approx. 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Designer Genevieve Gorder will be in the Capel showroom, showing attendees her line with the company. Visitors can register to win one of two Genevieve Gorder rugs. Capel will also offer breakfast and lunch in the showroom as well as cocktails and appetizers at 4 p.m. daily. Market Square, 112

11 a.m.-3 p.m.: MAT The Basics will offer a complimentary lunch with authentic Indian cuisine. 220 Elm Street, 304

Noon to 1 p.m.: Loloi will present a “Rugs 101” seminar on the basics of rugs, presented by Loloi’s Cyrus Loloi, Cherisse Jensen and Emily Lancaster. 3:15 p.m.: Stark Carpets cuts ribbon on new showroom. Suites at Market Square, M-2033

4 p.m.: Kas Rugs will have champagne and sweet treats to celebrate its 30th anniversary. In addition, it will offer lunch to attendees Oct. 13-16 of market. IHFC, D301

3 p.m.: Surya hosts designer Mike Farrell for a meet and greet with attendees. Showplace, 4100

4-6 p.m.: Jaipur Rugs will host a black-and-white cocktail party, as attendees are invited to wear black and white for the event, with music, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Showplace, 3415

4-6 p.m.: Nourison will host a reception for designer Barclay Butera, who will debut his new products with the company. IHFC, InterHall, IH101

5-10 p.m.: Linon will host a Greek-themed party, with Greek food, cheeses and wine, as well as international music, dancing and plate breaking. 220 Elm Street, 216

7-9 p.m.: Accessories Resource Team will premiere Local ART, a fundraiser offering food from regional food trucks, organically grown wine from Benjamin Vineyards and Winery, beer from Greensboro’s Natty Greene’s and music. Tuesday, Oct. 16:

5-8 p.m.: Feizy will host an Oktoberfest-themed party, with such authentic German food as bratwurst, mini-reuben sandwiches and German potato salad, along with German beer and music. There will also be giveaways for attendees. Market Square, 145
