DALTON, Ga.-With the announcement yesterday of Pantone's color of the year for 2014, Radiant Orchid, Oriental Weavers already has the captivating purple hue available and ready to ship in its Pantone Universe shag rug collection. The shags are made in the U.S. of polypropylene and retail for about $199 for a 5-by-8.
Other designs in the colorway will debut in Oriental Weavers' Pantone collections next month at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market.
"We are extremely proud to already have the new Radiant Orchid shag rugs produced and ready to ship," said Jonathan Witt, vice president of Oriental Weavers. "Our number one goal is always to produce fashionable, on-trend area rugs that help our retailers attract consumers to their rug departments and most importantly, sell more products. Having the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year shag rugs produced and ready to ship on the same day the formal announcement was made, we have delivered on that promise again. We are so excited for our retail partners to be the first among their peers in selling rugs featuring this now-famous color. Also, don't forget, we will have several new collections, all containing Radiant Orchid, on display at the January markets."
Pantone and Oriental Weavers first partnered up earlier this year, and the initial collections debuted this summer.
